Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Faturium — AI-native bookkeeping for EU businesses.
- How does Faturium reconcile my bank transactions automatically?
- Faturium imports your bank statement and matches each line against your uploaded receipts and e-Fatura invoices using AI. Matches with confidence ≥ 90 % are confirmed instantly; lower-confidence items surface in a review queue. Most businesses reach inbox-zero reconciliation within a week of connecting their bank.
- Which bank formats can I import?
- Faturium accepts MT940, OFX, QIF, and CSV exports from the major Portuguese banks (Millennium BCP, Caixa Geral, Novo Banco, Santander PT, BPI, Montepio). Drop the file in the app or use the API; classification and reconciliation start immediately.
- How does receipt OCR work?
- Photograph a receipt with your phone or upload a PDF. Our OCR engine extracts vendor name, NIF, date, total amount, and VAT in about two seconds. High-confidence reads are auto-confirmed; ambiguous fields open a confirmation dialog so you correct only what is uncertain.
- Is my VAT calculated automatically?
- Yes. Faturium reads the IVA rate from each receipt and bank line, checks the vendor category against CIVA Art. 19–26 deductibility rules, and flags the recoverable amount per transaction. Your monthly IVA summary is always ready to hand to your accountant.
- How does the Google Drive sync work?
- You authorise Faturium once on your Google account and choose a Drive folder. Every month Faturium creates a dated sub-folder containing the reconciliation report, the SAF-T export, and all receipt PDFs — pre-sorted by date and vendor. Your accountant can access it directly without waiting for your email.
- Is Faturium GDPR-compliant? Where is my data stored?
- All data is stored exclusively in the EU (Cloudflare D1 and R2 with --jurisdiction eu). Faturium is registered under GDPR as a data processor. You can export all your data or delete your account at any time from Settings → Data. We never sell or share your data with third parties.
- Can I share access with my accountant?
- Yes. Invite your accountant by email from Settings → Team. They receive read-only access to reconciliation reports, VAT summaries, and the Drive folder. They cannot edit transactions or access your bank credentials.
- What is the e-Fatura integration?
- Faturium can ingest your monthly SAF-T (PT) export from your invoicing software and cross-reference it with your AT e-Fatura communication log. Any invoice not yet reported to AT is highlighted so you can act before the legal deadline.
- How does Faturium handle expenses I paid from my personal account?
- Log the expense manually in the Reimbursements section, attach the receipt, and Faturium tracks it as a pending reimbursement (SNC 26). Once the company refunds you, Faturium matches the bank line and clears the balance automatically.
- What happens if OCR misreads a receipt?
- Any field extracted with less than 90 % confidence opens a confirmation dialog where you correct only the uncertain field — the rest is pre-filled. Corrections feed back into the model so accuracy improves for that vendor over time.
- Can I export my data for a tax audit?
- Yes. Go to Reports → Audit pack, choose a date range, and Faturium produces a ZIP with your bank statements, all receipts, the reconciliation report, and the SAF-T export. AT can request records up to 4 years back (LGT Art. 45), so we retain all documents for that period.
- What pricing plans are available?
- Faturium offers Free (up to 50 transactions/month), Pro (unlimited transactions, Google Drive sync, priority support), and Business (team seats, API access, custom integrations). All plans include EU data residency. See the pricing page for current rates.
